Ekadashi Annadaan: Let No Mother Wait Beside an Empty Plate

She once waited for her family to return home before serving dinner. Today, she may be waiting for someone to ask whether she has eaten. For an elderly widow living alone, an empty plate can carry more than hunger. It can hold the silence of a missing companion, the worry of another difficult day, and the sadness of feeling forgotten.

This Ekadashi, Dreamer Trust invites you to support Annadaan Seva for elderly widows. Together, we can help bring nourishing meals, thoughtful care, and a little companionship to mothers who need support. Your contribution can turn a simple act of giving into a moment of comfort for someone facing her later years alone.

When Preparing a Meal Becomes a Daily Struggle

Growing older can make everyday tasks increasingly difficult. Buying vegetables, carrying groceries, standing near a stove, and preparing a fresh meal may become exhausting. For widowed mothers with limited income or little family support, these challenges can leave them choosing between food and other essential needs.

A meal offered with kindness can ease that burden. It means one less worry about what to eat and one more reason to feel cared for. Beyond satisfying hunger, respectful food support reminds an elderly mother that her wellbeing matters and that she deserves attention, nourishment, and dignity.

Make Compassion Part of Your Ekadashi

Ekadashi is a sacred occasion of devotion, reflection, and self-discipline for many devotees. It also offers a meaningful opportunity to extend compassion beyond our homes. While observing the day according to your own traditions, you can help ensure that an elderly widow does not have to face hunger alone.

Through Annadaan, your prayers can be accompanied by a practical act of care. A lovingly offered meal becomes a way to honour the mothers whose needs may otherwise go unnoticed. Let this Ekadashi carry the warmth of generosity into someone’s everyday life.

Help Dreamer Trust Bring Nourishment and Comfort

Dreamer Trust’s Ekadashi Old Widow Annadaan Seva campaign brings people together around a simple purpose: helping elderly widows access food with dignity. Your support can contribute towards the essentials involved in preparing and serving meals, with attention to the needs of the mothers receiving them.

  • Food ingredients: Help provide staples such as rice, flour, lentils, and vegetables for meal preparation.
  • Meal preparation and serving: Support the effort needed to turn ingredients into fresh, thoughtfully prepared food.
  • Respectful care: Help make food support a welcoming experience where elderly mothers feel valued.
  • Shared responsibility: Join others in responding to hunger with consistent concern and compassion.

A Small Gesture Can Make a Difficult Day Easier

You do not need a grand occasion or a large contribution to begin caring. Whatever you can give can become part of a collective effort to provide meals. Sharing this campaign with friends and family can also help more people understand the quiet struggles that elderly widows may face.

Imagine an elderly mother sitting down to a meal without worrying about how she will arrange it. Imagine someone greeting her gently, listening to her, and serving her with patience. These ordinary moments can bring welcome relief to a lonely day.

This Ekadashi, help fill an empty plate with food and an elderly mother’s day with care. Support Dreamer Trust’s Old Widow Annadaan Seva and make compassion part of your offering.

Frequently Asked Questions

DREAMER TRUST is a government-registered non-profit organization. It started in 2020 during Covid by cooking nutritious meals for slum children, street children, helpless and distressed people, distributing clothes, distributing rations, and standing by vulnerable communities affected by natural calamities.

We serve slum and street children, vulnerable families, elderly and distressed persons, and communities impacted by disasters—prioritizing nutrition, dignity, and fast on-ground response.

In 2020, during the Covid crisis, DREAMER TRUST began community kitchens to provide wholesome meals. The work expanded to ration kits, clothing drives, and rapid relief for calamity-hit neighborhoods.

Donate via our campaign page’s secure “Donate” button. You can choose preset amounts or enter a custom amount. Every contribution directly fuels meals, ration kits, and emergency relief.

We follow government-compliant processes, maintain audited accounts, and share impact updates. Funds are tracked to programs (meals, rations, relief) with transparent reporting for donors.
